Message From Prime Minister

It gives me immense pleasure to learn that National Medical College is bringing out the college Souvenir on the occasion of the College Inauguration Ceremony.

We have incorporated a provision in the Interim Constitution (2006) which states that Basic Health Care is the fundamental right of every citizen. For the practicality of this provision, the Government sector, Private sector as well as the Community need to intensify self-level as well as co-ordinated collective efforts, The Government is trying its level best to upgrade the infrastructure of health institutions and hike the budgetary allocation to the health sector as well as to promote the private sector health institutions, in order to facilitate easily affordable health services to each and every one. This can not be made possible by the Government sector alone. The private sector must enhance investment in the social sector too.

I understand that the National Medical College established in the private sector at Birgunj of Parsa District has been providing quality health services to the people of this region. Not only this, I am confident that through high quality services this college will be able to establish itself as a model college.
The competent health manpower produced by this college will hopefully provide health care to people not only in the urban centers but also in the remote rural areas. The efficient doctors produced by this college will get motivated and encouraged to serve in the rural areas. I extend my best wishes to this medical college to flourish as a pioneer health institution.
